Launch of NSERC Student Ambassadors

Program news

January 15, 2018

NSERC is pleased to announce the launch of a pilot initiative to help Canadian youth to promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) to their peers. This new grant will engage students directly to become mentors and role models for their peers, helping foster science and engineering culture in the next generation of Canadian discoverers and innovators.

NSERC Student Ambassadors grants provide financial support for post-secondary students to share their science and engineering experiences with youth from groups that are underrepresented in STEM fields, through outreach activities. These grants provide $1,000 to cover presentation materials, event logistics, travel, accommodation and meals.

There are no fixed deadlines for this initiative. Applications must be submitted two months before the start of the proposed outreach activity.

For more information, including eligibility and application requirements, please read the NSERC Student Ambassadors grants description.
